Catalina Real-Time Transient Survey

Catalina Surveys consist of the Catalina Sky Survey (CSS) and the Catalina Real-time Transient Survey (CRTS). The CSS project involves searches for rapidly moving Near Earth Objects (NEOs), while CRTS searches for stationary optical transients (OTs). Both surveys work collaboratively to extract the maximum scientific return from data from three telescopes operated by CSS.

Archival photometry is served from Caltech in the same collaborative spirit from:

IUCAA has now joined hands with the Catalina Surveys and will be serving the image cutouts as well as host a mirror for the photometric catalogues. This effort was initially set-up in collaboration with Persistent Systems Limited under the Virtual Observatory India project. We are starting with CSS cutouts and will slowly expand to the two other telescopes viz. SSS and MLS.
